The Week in Music: News from 28th Sept – 4th Oct.
Well, to say that this week has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions, would be an understatement. This week in the pop culture circuit has been a series of ups and downs. And, like every other week, we’re diving headfirst into everything the last 7 days in music brought to us.
If you’re hungry for new releases, worry not. Because, BLACKPINK, Shawn Mendes, and Demi Lovato came through. If you’re looking for gorgeous performances, well – #BTSWEEK took the world by storm. So, before we give everything away, just scroll, won’t you? Stay caught up with this week in music.

2. First, Miley Cyrus teased us with the possibility of a recorded cover version of Blondie’s ‘Heart of Glass’. And, then, she granted our wishes and released the official cover.
3. BLACKPINK arrived on the music scene like the queens they are – with a debut studio album, a brand new music video, and an explosive collaboration with Cardi B.
4. And, speaking of hot collaborations, Megan Thee Stallion and Young Thung dropped a naughty track called ‘Don’t Stop’, marking their first ever project together.
5. And, as if that wasn’t enough in the world of powerful pairings, Dua Lipa recruited DaBaby for a remix of her bangin’ disco-pop track, ‘Levitating’.
6. Further, Shawn Mendes blew us all away with the announcement of a new studio album. And, also released a brand new single – ‘Wonder’ – showing us a new side of his musicality.
7. And, then Demi Lovato jumped aboard the release train with a surprise track called ‘Still Have Me’. So, now we know she’s on her way to a new album anytime soon.
8. DaBaby made history with this year’s BET Hip-Hop Award nominations as he landed two albums in the ‘Album of the Year’ category. And, if that wasn’t enough, he also bagged the most nods this year – a total of 12 nominations.

9. Billie Eilish swopped back into the spotlight with news of her official documentary. In addition, she released the official music video for her Bond theme song, ‘No Time to Die’
10. And, in a heartbreaking turn of events, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend announced the tragic loss of their newborn baby, Jack. Their son passed away moments after birth.
