Teaming up with Sony Pictures Animation, the new animated musical brings the spotlight to Huntrix — a fearless K-pop girl group on a mission to win back their fans and dominate the stage at the legendary Idol Awards.

The latest preview showcases the girls preparing for their biggest performance yet. A Star-Powered Cast and Soundtrack in 'KPop Demon Hunters'

The animation is vibrant and stylised, capturing the electric energy of K-pop while pushing into fantasy territory. In addition to Cho, Hong, and Yoo, the cast features Korean drama favourite Ahn Hyo-seop, who voices Jinu — the dark and charming leader of the Saja Boys. Other notable names include Yunjin Kim, Joel Kim Booster, Liza Koshy, Daniel Dae Kim, Ken Jeong, and Byung Hun Lee.

The music of the movie is just as impressive as its cast. Members of the global K-pop phenomenon TWICE — Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung — contribute an original song, leading a lineup of acclaimed music producers and artists.

The Vision Behind 'KPop Demon Hunters'

Directed by Chris Appelhans ('Wish Dragon') and Maggie Kang ('The LEGO Ninjago Movie'), 'KPop Demon Hunters' has been in the works since 2021. The screenplay, built from Maggie Kang’s original concept, was brought to life with the help of co-writers Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan. As a devoted K-pop fan herself, Kang poured her love for the genre into every detail, blending genuine cultural elements with a playful, high-energy tone that captures the spirit of K-pop while delivering something fresh and wildly entertaining.

She previously explained that the cast was instrumental in shaping the film’s emotional tone and humour. According to Kang, actors like Byung Hun Lee and Ahn Hyo-seop brought heartfelt K-drama depth to their roles, while Cho, Hong, and Yoo delivered performances that balanced star-like charisma with the relatability of young women managing an extraordinary double life.
