Check Out Nicki Minaj’s Brand-New Track, ‘Super Freaky Girl’

For the first time in more than two years, Nicki Minaj has released a solo song, the peppy and unmistakably NSFW new track ‘Super Freaky Girl’.

Since releasing the stand-alone single ‘Megatron’ in July of 2019, ‘Super Freaky Girl’ is Minaj’s first solo effort. She has remained active since then, releasing four joint projects this year alone, including ‘Do We Have A Problem?’ and ‘Bussin’ with Lil Baby, ‘Blick Blick’ with Coi Leray, and ‘We Go Up’ with Fivio Foreign.

Even without the aforementioned single releases, Minaj has already had a busy year. She will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2022 MTV VMAs, which she will also perform on 28th August, it was announced earlier this week. After Minaj played with Drake and Lil Wayne at the momentous Young Money reunion concert in Toronto a few days prior, the news broke.

The rapper’s autobiographical HBO Max docuseries, ‘Nicki’, will debut later this year. Her spectacular climb to fame in the 2010s will be followed in this six-part series, with a strong emphasis on the challenges she has experienced as a woman in the hip-hop industry.

In a recent trailer for the series, Minaj is heard saying, “I have to make music in order to keep sane,” which suggests that the show may also touch on the recording of her impending fifth album. It is unknown at this time if ‘Super Freaky Girl’ will be included on the album.
