Dua Lipa Set To Make Acting Debut As A Spy

There’s no denying that Dua Lipa has become quite the sensation in the music industry with her songs going on to be a massive hit one after another and sweeping several of the major awards from the Grammys to the BRITS. The 25-year-old English pop singer is now all set to embark on her Hollywood journey with her acting debut in the spy thriller-Argylle directed by the same man behind Kingsmen, Mathew Vaugh.

Vaugh plans to produce three films in this franchise and the shooting is reportedly set to begin by August 2021.

Dua took to her Instagram handle on Thursday(July 8) to break the news to her excited fans who poured in with messages congratulating and wishing the singer good luck.

A Star-Studded Ensemble

Argylle is based on an unpublished spy-novel written by Ellie Conway which will be released in 2022. “When I read this early draft manuscript, I felt it was the most incredible and original spy franchise since Ian Fleming’s books of the ’50s,” said Vaughn in a release. “This is going to reinvent the spy genre.”

Now that sounds rather promising.

Dua Lipa will feature along with several A-listers in her debut stint and these include the likes of Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, John Cena, and Samuel EL Jackson. She will also be contributing to the movie’s theme song as well as its original score.

On the music front, the singer’s most recent record was last year’s Future Nostalgia which won the Grammy for the Best Pop Vocal Album and British Album Of The Year at the BRITS 2021.
