Video from the performance, which took place on 31st July in Lisbon’s Altice Arena, shows Styles interrupting his performance of ‘Love on Tour’ before giving the microphone to a nearby spectator. The attendee then sings live a cover of Elvis Presley’s 1961 love song ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ for his sweetheart.

Videos captured on TikTok just before the proposal, shows Carl asking to sing two lines to his girlfriend at the intermission, as Styles humorously asks the audience if the pair’s year-long relationship warrants his microphone. Styles then continued the rest of his performance after congratulating the happy couple.

At the Lisbon concert, Styles was joined by the opening act Wolf Alice, whose lead singer Ellie Rowsell also sang a duet with Styles of the band’s song ‘No Hard Feelings’ from the year 2021. Styles’ 17-date European tour came to an end with a performance at the Altice Arena. From mid-August until December, the singer will then begin a run of concerts in North and South America.

Following the COVID postponement in 2020, the global tour gained new dates in January. It will conclude early in 2019 with a stop in Australia and New Zealand. Arlo Parks, Koffee and Mitski have all been added to the tour as support bands in addition to Wolf Alice.

The tour is in support of Styles’ most recent album, ‘Harry’s House,’ which was released last week and earned the pop sensation a spot on the Mercury Prize shortlist for this year. Meanwhile, Barack Obama’s summer playlist for 2022 featured the ‘Harry’s House’ song ‘Music For A Sushi Restaurant.’
