Lady Gaga Revealed That She Will Appear in ‘Folie à Deux,’ The ‘Joker’ Prequel

Lady Gaga confirmed that Joaquin Phoenix and her will co-star in the upcoming sequel to Todd Phillips’ 2019 movie ‘Joker’.

The musician and actor, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, shared a trailer for the movie on 4th August, confirming her and Phoenix’s participation in ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’.

In June, Phillips shared a cover of the screenplay co-written with colleague, Scott Silver and a picture of Phoenix reading it, confirming that a Joker sequel was in the works.

The Joker’s doctor at Arkham Asylum, Harley Quinn, falls in love with him, aids in his escape and eventually becomes both his sidekick and love interest. Shortly after ‘Folie à Deux’ was made public, it was rumoured that Gaga was in early talks to play Harley Quinn. Additionally, it was said that the movie, whose French title is ‘shared craziness,’ will be a musical.

In recent years, Gaga has had a number of leading roles, including those in the Phillips-produced 2018 film ‘A Star Is Born’ and the 2017 film ‘House of Gucci’.

Following the announcement of the movie’s release date, Gaga confirmed that she would be in it.
