Nicki Minaj Jumps Aboard Ty Dolla $ign’s Brand New Track ‘Expensive’

This year has been witness to some of the most brilliant collaborations. And with every passing week, we see the union of another unusual duo. Just a few days back, The Weeknd and Calvin Harris announced that they’d be dropping a brand new collaborative track titled, ‘Over Now,’ this Friday. But it looks like they’ve got competition because yet another fiery pair have joined in on the fight for the spotlight: Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign. 

Both rap stars are gearing up to drop their new tune, ‘Expensive’. This will mark the second time Minaj has teamed up with Ty. Back in 2017, the duo joined forces with Jason Derulo for the chart-topping hit, ‘Swalla’. 

Ty Dolla $ign recently took to social media to break the news. He shared the cover art for the track which features himself, dressed in a sparkling white suit, staring pensively into a mirror. The sunny yellow text below the image reveals the title and their names. 

Now, speaking of the rap star, he’s seen his fair share of collaborations this year. On the list is ‘Speed Me Up’ with Lil Yachty and Sueco the Child off the “Sonic the Hedgehog“ soundtrack,  ‘All I Need’ with Mahalia and Jacob Collier, and more recently, ‘Ego Death’ with Kanye West, FKA Twigs and Skrillex.  

Nicki Minaj herself has teamed up with some interesting artists this year. She worked closely with Doja Cat over the remix for ‘Say So’. This tune earned Nicki her very first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, which is a truly impressive feat. And not long after, the young star refused to rest on her laurels. She teamed up with Tekashi 6ix9ine for the groovy banger, ‘Trollz‘. And in no time, this tune also scored the No. 1 spot, subsequently bringing home Nicki two big chart wins. 

So, there’s no doubting that ‘Expensive’ will create quite the splash upon arrival, on August 28.
