Shawn Mendes Recalls is “Terrified of Being Evil” After Arguing With Camila Cabello

Shawn Mendes gave more insight into his private life by revealing that he felt “terrified of being evil” following an argument with Camila Cabello. The singer admitted that he and Camila had a disagreement and he raised his voice at her. In a recent podcast, he reveals the lesson he took away from the “vulnerable” moment.

”I raised my voice at her and she was like, ‘I don’t like it when you raise your voice. Why did you raise your voice?’ And I got so defensive.”, he recalls, “I raised my voice at her and she was like, ‘I don’t like it when you raise your voice. Why did you raise your voice?’ And I got so defensive.”

The two of them later went on to have a lengthy conversation about this fear because he does not want to be perceived negatively. After he opened up to Camila he says that she comforted him and this taught Shawn that when you are being vulnerable after a fight, you are really just defending yourself even better.

“Maybe there even is bad inside of me, and I have to just accept that,” he admits, “And that other part of me, he’s just got to be here and we’ve just got to work together until eventually he gets worked in all of the trauma and all of the kinks get rubbed out of him and he’s OK. But I can’t avoid the fact that there’s a little bit of darkness inside of me and letting that darkness kind of be present is a horrible feeling.”
