Shimon- The Robot Musician

It’s official, robots are going to take over the world. Or at least, right now, the music industry. Shimon, is the brand new singer-songwriting robot, that’s been taught to write his own lyrics by studying tens of thousands of songs written by musical legends.

Oh but that’s not all, the robot’s also studied numerous genres of music, already making him quite the prodigy. Shimon was created by researchers from the Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology, and this little Wall-E looking creature even has an album coming out in the spring.

But for now, check out this video of Shimon singing and dancing along with his band of Georgia Tech students. And yes, we completely understand if you keep wondering: did a robot really just do that?
