Amanda Seyfried got a surprise while filming the steamy thriller 'The Housemaid'—she discovered she had a bigger job title than she ever realised. Somewhere along the way, she was credited as an executive producer…without even knowing it. Turns out, she was wearing more hats on set than she signed up for—and she found out mid-production.
Amanda Seyfried Reaction
During an appearance on 'The Graham Norton Show,' she shared that she had no idea she was listed as an executive producer on the Paul Feig-directed movie until about three weeks into production, when she spotted the credit on a call sheet.

Surprised, Seyfried said she never knowingly signed up for the role. After reaching out to producer Todd Lieberman, she learned that her agent had negotiated the executive producer title on her behalf. Joking about the discovery, she said the movie better be a hit. She also made it clear that the credit was more of a vanity title, explaining that she did not contribute behind the scenes and only acted in the film.
Amanda Seyfried pointed out that some producers, like her fellow guest Margot Robbie, are deeply involved in developing projects from the ground up, while she simply joined the production, had fun and wrapped her scenes. With a laugh, she added that now it feels like she is being rewarded with a vacation.

About 'The Housemaid'
Based on 'The Housemaid' by Freida McFadden, the film stars Amanda Seyfried as Nina Winchester, a wealthy wife and mother who hires a live-in housemaid, played by Sydney Sweeney. What begins as a promising job inside a beautiful home soon turns dark as Nina's behaviour becomes increasingly unsettling.
Following the film's strong box office performance, Lionsgate announced a sequel based on the second book in the trilogy, 'The Housemaid's Secret,' with production expected to begin this year. Although Amanda Seyfried's character's story wrapped up in the first movie, she has said she would gladly return if the opportunity arises, especially after having such a great experience working with Feig.
