Miley Cyrus is stepping back into one of her most famous roles. The singer-songwriter will return as Hannah Montana for a 20th anniversary special, set to premiere on 24th March on Disney+.

Disney+ shared the news along with a short teaser, announcing that the special will celebrate where it all began and inviting fans to relive Miley's memories from the hit series.

About Miley Cyrus' Return

According to a press release, the episode will be filmed in front of a live studio audience and will feature an in-depth interview with Cyrus, hosted by Alex Cooper. The conversation promises a closer look at how the iconic character was created and how the show went on to influence pop culture and millions of fans worldwide. Cyrus will reflect on the unforgettable moments, music and memories that defined an entire generation.

The special will also include never-before-seen archival footage. Fans can expect to see recreated versions of some of the show's most beloved sets, including the Stewart family living room and Hannah's famous closet.

Miley Cyrus's Emotions For 'Hannah Montana'

In a statement, Cyrus shared that Hannah Montana will always be part of who she is. She explained that what started as a television show turned into a shared experience that shaped both her life and the lives of countless fans. She said she remains grateful for that connection and proud that the character still means so much to people two decades later. Calling the event a "Hannahversary," she described it as her way of celebrating and thanking the fans who have supported her for 20 years.

The 'Hannah Montana' special is produced by Unwell Productions and  HopeTown Entertainment. Ashley Edens serves as showrunner, with Miley Cyrus, Alex Cooper, Tish Cyrus-Purcell and Matt Kaplan as executive producers.

When 'Hannah Montana' first premiered in March 2006, it drew more than 5 million viewers per episode. The show's massive popularity led to five studio albums, a record-breaking run on the Billboard 200 chart, the Best of Both Worlds Tour, a concert film and a theatrical movie, cementing its place in Disney history.
