Ariana Grande is fully embracing her momentum as an actress—and she isn't slowing down anytime soon.

During a recent appearance on the Today show, the 32-year-old star shared that acting is currently her main creative focus, whether on stage or in front of the camera. She explained that performing in films and theatrical productions is what inspires her most right now.

Ariana Grande is Focusing on Acting

Grande assured fans she still intends to make music, but for the moment, acting is where her energy is centred as she promotes the upcoming 'Wicked: For Good' movie musical.

Ariana Grande, who dazzled as Glinda in 'Wicked,' earned major recognition for the role last year, collecting nominations from the Oscars, BAFTA Awards, Critics' Choice Awards, the Golden Globes and more. Although she began her career on Broadway and later gained massive fame through her Nickelodeon roles and her chart-topping music, her move into large-scale films has been more recent. Director Jon M. Chu's two-part adaptation of 'Wicked' helped solidify her transition to major motion pictures.

Reflecting on her roots, Ariana Grande said returning to the stage someday would be a dream—as long as the right project comes along. For now, she is grateful for where her acting journey has taken her and excited to see what comes next.

Ariana Grande's Future Endeavours

After 'Wicked: For Good,' fans will see Grande on the big screen again in 'Focker In-Law,' the newest instalment in the 'Meet the Parents' franchise, arriving in 2026. She joined the cast earlier this year and recently finished filming. Ariana Grande has expressed how surreal the experience was, describing how she grew up admiring Ben Stiller and the rest of the cast, and how sharing a set with them felt like a creative milestone.

Grande's most recent studio album, 'Eternal Sunshine,' debuted in March 2024, followed by her deluxe-edition single 'Twilight Zone.'

While acting is taking centre stage for now, the singer said she has no plans to abandon her music. She emphasised that both crafts balance and inspire each other, adding that finding harmony between them has been an important part of her personal and creative growth.

'Wicked: For Good' arrives in theatres on 21st November, and 'Focker In-Law' is set to premiere in November 2026.
