Two months after 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba–The Movie: Infinity Castle' debuted in Western theatres, the film has already become a major box-office success. Thanks to a surge in recent ticket sales, the 'Demon Slayer' franchise has crossed an extraordinary milestone.

Current global numbers show that 'Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle' has earned more than $729 million, making it the fifth-highest-grossing release of the year. Altogether, the 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba' film franchise has now surpassed $1.3 billion in worldwide box-office revenue.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle's Big Victory

A significant portion of that total comes from the 2025 feature, while another $512 million stems from the record-breaking 2021 hit 'Demon Slayer: Mugen Train.' It remains unclear whether Infinity Castle will reach the $1 billion mark by year-end, especially as box-office momentum has slowed.

However, the film's strong fanbase and Crunchyroll's push for theatrical attendance—with no streaming release planned for 2025—leave open the possibility that it could climb even higher before the year closes.

Other Anime Making Massive Success

'Demon Slayer' isn't the only anime making noise at the global box office. 'Chainsaw Man–The Movie: Reze Arc' premiered in Western territories in October and has already pulled in more than $168 million worldwide. Though its numbers are smaller compared to 'Demon Slayer,' it has earned praise from critics and fans, further highlighting the rising demand for anime films.

Industry analysts are noting the trend, with reports suggesting that 'Solo Levelling' may follow a similar theatrical path in 2026.

What Is 'Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle'?

Based on Koyoharu Gotouge's 2016 manga, 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba' tells the story of Tanjiro Kamado, voiced by Zach Aguilar, a boy who trains to become a demon slayer after a brutal attack leaves his family dead and his sister Nezuko, voiced by Abby Trott, transformed into a demon.

Across four seasons, Tanjiro masters various breathing techniques and fights to find a cure for Nezuko while aiming to defeat Muzan, the powerful demon king.

'Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle' marks the beginning of the anime's "Final Battle" arc, pitting the Demon Slayer Corps against Muzan and his forces in their most intense confrontation yet. The film features the returning voice cast, including Channing Tatum as Keizo.

Since its release, 'Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle' has shattered multiple box-office records, surpassing achievements once held by 'Pokémon's 1999 theatrical run. Two additional films are reportedly in development, though no release dates have been announced.

'Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle' is now playing in theatres, while the full anime series is streaming on Crunchyroll.
