Ariana Grande Signs With New Management

Ariana Grande has officially joined forces with Brandon Creed and his newly established ‘Good World Management’ firm, according to insiders familiar with the matter.

This development follows confirmation four months ago that the pop sensation had severed ties with her long-time manager, Scooter Braun, who had steered her career since the debut of her first album a decade ago, with a brief hiatus in 2017. While the news was initially reported by Billboard, representatives for Grande, Creed and Braun opted not to comment on Variety’s inquiries.

Grande, currently engaged in her first significant film role for Universal’s screen adaptation of the Broadway hit ‘Wicked,’ slated for release in November next year, is now part of a talent roster featuring Demi Lovato, Troye Sivan, Charli XCX, Orville Peck, Mark Ronson and former Fifth Harmony member Normani, in a co-management arrangement with Lydia Asrat’s firm Q10.

With Grande’s mother, Joan, a longstanding influence on her career, it’s anticipated that she will play a role in this new management chapter.

Despite a hiatus in major releases since her ‘Positions’ album in the fall of 2020, Grande, now with her management situation settled, hints at new music on the horizon, recently sharing studio photos on Instagram. Following her split from Braun, she reportedly received numerous managerial inquiries but took time to deliberate her next steps and navigate the legal aspects of the separation.

Sources indicated in August that the decision to part ways with Braun was amicable, with Grande expressing a desire for a fresh direction. “[Ariana] likes that [Brandon] understands her on a different level, and between acting and music, she has a lot coming up and is excited to have found a new support system to help her execute her plans,” said a source.

This move mirrors Demi Lovato’s departure from Braun’s management, subsequently signing with ‘Good World Management’ a month later, just ahead of the release of her album ‘Revamped.’

Scooter Braun has managed artists like Justin Bieber, David Guetta, Black Eyed Peas, Ava Max and Carly Rae Jepsen. However, his reputation faced challenges, particularly regarding the controversy with Taylor Swift over the ownership of her master recordings.

The dispute began in 2019 when Braun’s investment group, Ithaca Holdings, acquired Swift’s former record label Big Machine for $300 million (£227 million), denying her the rights to her masters. Reports indicate that Braun expressed regrets about the handling of the sale last year.
