Although the relationship had its share of joy, reports suggest they parted ways because they had different life goals: White, now retired from competitive snowboarding, was ready to settle down and start a family, while Dobrev wanted to focus on her acting career.

Dobrev was seen on a yacht holiday with friends, including actor Zac Efron, a few weeks after their breakup. However, she later denied any love rumours and maintained that it was just a casual getaway.
