BLACKPINK’s Jennie Starts ‘Solo Journey’ With New Label And Company

Jennie is wrapping up 2023 with some exciting news. The BLACKPINK member took to her Instagram to reveal her new beginning to her vast following of nearly 83 million fans. Brace yourselves because she’s set to kick off 2024 with a bang, launching her very own label and company called OA.

The K-pop diva expressed her gratitude for the love she received throughout the year. “Hi, this is Jennie. This year was filled with many accomplishments, and I’m so thankful for all the love I’ve received,” she shared. “I’m also excited about what’s to come, as I start my solo journey in 2024 with a company that I have established called OA. Please show lots of love for my new start with OA and, of course, BLACKPINK. Thank you.”

Alongside this revelation, Jennie treated her followers to a striking black-and-white photo of herself, tagging OA’s fresh Instagram account, which had already amassed about 850,000 followers.

OA’s page showcased two images with a brief caption outlining its mission. “OA, which stands for ODD ATELIER, is a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected,” the artist explained alongside an image of the company’s logo emblazoned on dark hoodies. “It is a label founded by artist JENNIE in November 2023.”

As for specific details about her plans with the new venture, Jennie left fans hanging, opting not to spill all the beans just yet.

In early December, YG Entertainment dropped the bombshell that they renewed exclusive contracts with all four BLACKPINK members, causing their stock to soar. This news assured fans that their favourite quartet would stay put with the agency.

Let’s not forget, BLACKPINK is the reigning queen of K-pop girl groups in the U.S. market. The group made history headlining Coachella earlier this year and in 2022, they became the third K-pop group to conquer the Billboard 200 with their album, ‘Born Pink.’

Jennie had her own share of triumphs in 2023. Apart from releasing long-awaited solo music, she marked her acting debut in the HBO drama series ‘The Idol’ and was bestowed the honorary title of Member of the Order of the British Empire.
