Following its success in theaters across the globe this summer, 'F1: The Movie' is about to transition to home streaming. The fast-paced racing drama starring Brad Pitt will appear on Apple TV on 12th December, according to confirmation from Apple Original Films. This action is the next phase of a movie that has already created a lot of buzz and smashed box office records.
From Track to Screen: The Story and Its Success
Released theatrically on 27th June, 'F1: The Movie' quickly captured box office attention and acclaim. Joseph Kosinski directed the movie, Jerry Bruckheimer produced it, and Lewis Hamilton's Dawn Apollo Films co-produced it, with Warner Bros. distributing it in North America.
The character played by Brad Pitt is Sonny Hayes, a former racing sensation whose career was cut short by an accident. After thirty years, Hayes is requested to return and take charge of a Formula 1 team that is having trouble, all the while coaching a rookie driver named Joshua Pearce (played by Damson Idris).

Tobias Menzies, Kerry Condon, and Javier Bardem are part of the supporting cast. The film's performance has been stellar: it crossed $600 million globally and is now considered one of Apple's biggest theatrical hits ever. In order to provide viewers early access while the movie was still showing in cinemas, it was made available for buy or rent digitally (PVOD) on 22nd August, prior to its streaming release.

What's Ahead?
With the streaming date set for 12th December, fans everywhere can anticipate 'F1: The Movie' joining Apple TV's collection on that day. The film is still accessible for purchase or rental on digital platforms in the interim, including through the Apple TV app and other online stores. Notably, in the announcement about F1's streaming debut, Apple quietly rebranded its streaming service—dropping the "+" and now referring to it simply as Apple TV.
