The 'Ocean's Eleven' franchise is expanding once again—this time with a prequel reportedly in the works. According to multiple outlets, Bradley Cooper and Margot Robbie are in discussions to lead the upcoming film that explores the story before Danny Ocean and his crew carried out their legendary 2001 casino heist.

Industry sources indicate that while the negotiations with Cooper, 50, and Robbie, 35, are still ongoing, both stars are strong contenders for the leading roles. The film is expected to be directed by Lee Isaac Chung, known for 'Twisters' and 'Minari,' who will replace Jay Roach as the previously announced director.

Cooper and Robbie, longtime friends who have expressed interest in collaborating on 'Ocean's Eleven' prequel, could finally share the screen if the deal is finalised. Earlier reports suggested that Robbie might team up with Ryan Gosling for the project, potentially portraying Danny Ocean's parents in a story set decades before the events of the original film.

'Ocean's Eleven' Saga

The Ocean's Eleven saga began with the 1960 version featuring Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop. The 2001 remake, directed by Steven Soderbergh, starred George Clooney as Danny Ocean alongside Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and the late Bernie Mac. The film's success spawned two sequels—'Ocean's Twelve' (2004) and 'Ocean's Thirteen' (2007)—followed by the all-female spinoff 'Ocean's Eight' (2018) led by Sandra Bullock.
