Chris Hemsworth is opening up about what has helped his marriage to Elsa Pataky stay strong after nearly 15 years together.
The actor, 42, recently appeared on Jay Shetty's 'On Purpose' podcast, where he reflected on the ups and downs of married life. He shared that having fun together and keeping a sense of adventure are essential to their relationship. According to Hemsworth, the most difficult periods have come when life turns into nothing but work, parenting, and schedules, leaving little room for the couple to focus on each other.
Chris Hemsworth on Managing Life And Work
He explained that when both he and Pataky are busy with work and juggling their children's needs, their relationship can start to feel more like household management than a partnership. Making time to step away from the chaos and reconnect as a couple has been key to maintaining balance.

Hemsworth and Pataky, 49, met in 2010 and married later that same year. They share three children: daughter India, 13, and 11-year-old twins Sasha and Tristan.
Chris Hemsworth on Prioritising Relationship
When the conversation turned to how challenging it must be for two working actors to prioritise their relationship, Hemsworth pointed out that this struggle is universal. He noted that while their lives are busy, they are fortunate to have support that allows them to create time together when they choose to.
He added that humour, curiosity, and a willingness to be playful with one another keep their bond strong. For Chris Hemsworth, the foundation of their marriage comes down to friendship and companionship. Staying interested in each other and continuing to talk, laugh, and explore life together is what keeps the connection alive.

Hemsworth also shared that part of a healthy marriage is accepting that you never fully stop learning about your partner. That ongoing curiosity, paired with compassion and forgiveness, helps both of them navigate each other's flaws and grow together. He believes that understanding has played a big role in keeping their relationship grounded.
Earlier this year, Pataky echoed similar thoughts in an interview, saying that staying curious and adaptable has helped them reconnect during times when life pulls them in different directions.
