David Harbour has stepped away from an upcoming film project after already spending time on set.

The actor was originally set to star alongside Pedro Pascal and Olivia Wilde in the Searchlight Pictures drama 'Behemoth!'. On 7th January, the studio confirmed that Harbour, 50, is no longer involved in the film. Reports indicate that he made the decision to take a break and rest after an intense period promoting the final season of 'Stranger Things' over the past two months.

Harbour's representatives have not commented on his exit. According to industry reports, his role has already been recast, though the replacement has not yet been announced.

About 'Behemoth!'

'Behemoth!' follows a musician from a family of musicians who returns to Los Angeles and is described as a tribute to movie music and the people behind it. Harbour and Wilde were previously spotted filming scenes for the movie in Los Angeles on 10th December, suggesting that production was already underway before his departure.

The film is written and directed by Tony Gilroy, known for his work on 'Andor,' 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,' 'Michael Clayton,' and the 'Bourne' film series. News of David Harbour joining the cast first surfaced in October, with early details suggesting the story centres on a cellist.

Harbour also missed a December event in New York City celebrating the final season of 'Stranger Things,' which was attributed at the time to a scheduling conflict.

The actor has previously spoken openly about his mental health journey, including a bipolar disorder diagnosis in his 20s. Beyond 'Stranger Things,' he has recently appeared in 'A Working Man' and Marvel's 'Thunderbolts,' reprising his role as Red Guardian. He is set to return to that character in 'Avengers: Doomsday' and will also appear in 'Violent Night 2,' both scheduled for release in December.
