Rediscovering the Fab Four: A Legendary Journey Reborn
Few bands have shaped music like The Beatles, whose legacy as global icons continues to resonate decades after their split. The early 1960s saw the rise of Liverpool's John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, whose creativity, inventiveness, and charm helped to reshape popular culture. Their story has been told countless times, and their quick ascent from Hamburg clubs to global superstardom made them one of the most influential bands in history. But now, Disney+ is giving this story a fresh, modern shine.

'The Beatles Anthology,' an innovative eight-part documentary that allowed the band to narrate their own story in their own words, was first released in the middle of the 1990s. In contrast to conventional music films, it included in-depth, unfiltered, and intensely personal interviews with John, Paul, George, and Ringo. The series captured everything: Beatlemania, their first steps in America, their experimentation in India, and the emotional journey to their break-up. For many fans, it has now became the definitive account of The Beatles' journey.

Restoration, Expansion, and a New Episode
'The Beatles Anthology' is currently being re-released by Disney+ in collaboration with Apple Corps in a completely restored and remastered format. Peter Jackson's Wingnut Films and Park Road Post have been in charge of the project, and Giles Martin, the son of original producer George Martin, has been in charge of new audio mixes for a large portion of the music. The original eight episodes are back, but this time there's something extra: a brand-new ninth episode, featuring previously unseen footage of Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr reflecting on their shared life and work during the 1994–1995 sessions.
The original directors for Episode One to Eight were Geoff Wonfor, Bob Smeaton, and Mah Longfellow; while, the ninth episode has been directed by Oliver Murray.
