Ed Sheeran recently went head-to-head with Chris Hemsworth in a playful arm-wrestling showdown.
Recently, Hemsworth, 42, shared an Instagram video showing the two stars hanging out and testing their strength. In the first round, Chris Hemsworth appeared to struggle while Ed Sheeran laughed his way through the match. At one point, Sheeran encouraged him to do it properly and joked that he could not win.
Sheeran took the first victory and quickly suggested they switch hands for another round. The second match was even more intense. Both were laughing, but this time Hemsworth overpowered Sheeran, pushing his arm down so hard that Sheeran began sliding sideways in his seat as he tried to resist.
Behind Ed Sheeran And Chris Hemsworth's Match
The fun moment was inspired by comic book artist Wayne Nichols, who created artwork showing Sheeran battling Hemsworth's famous Marvel character, Thor. In the illustration, Thor holds his iconic hammer while Sheeran grips his guitar.
The pair brought the artwork to life for fans just before Sheeran kicked off his 'Loop Tour' at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on 26th February. Nichols also posted a video revealing how he designed the poster, which will be displayed at the stadium during Sheeran's shows. He said he had an incredible time creating the epic team-up between the God of Thunder and the chart-topping singer.

As Ed Sheeran begins his tour, he has made it clear that performing is something he truly enjoys. In November 2025, he appeared on 'Mythical Kitchen's Last Meals' with host Josh Scherer and shared that he has never seen touring as an obligation. He explained that he loves both touring and songwriting, and at this stage of his career, he can plan shows around his family life.
Sheeran shares two daughters, Lyra, 5, and Jupiter, 3, with his wife, Cherry Seaborn. He said that if he only wants to perform on Saturdays, he can choose to do that. If he feels like adding Friday and Sunday shows, that is also an option. But if it becomes too much, he scales it back.
For Ed Sheeran, being able to prioritise his family while still doing what he loves feels like the perfect balance.
