Hilary Duff is finally setting the record straight about a moment that fueled early 2000s gossip.

During a recent appearance on 'Call Her Daddy,' host Alex Cooper asked Duff if she intentionally showed up at the 2003 premiere of 'Freaky Friday' to stir the pot with fellow Disney star Lindsay Lohan.

Hilary Duff admitted that she absolutely did—and laughed about it. She explained that she was just a teenager at the time and caught up in the drama.

Hilary Duff And Lindsay Lohan Feud

Back then, rumours of a feud between Duff and Lohan were everywhere, largely because of a teenage love triangle involving late pop singer Aaron Carter. Duff starred in 'Lizzie McGuire,' while Lohan was leading Disney films like 'Get a Clue' and 'Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.' The rivalry became a defining piece of millennial pop culture.

When asked whether she was shocked that Lohan later appeared at the premiere of her own film, 'Cheaper by the Dozen,' Hilary Duff said she was not surprised at all. She described it as classic childhood feud energy, calling Lohan her teenage nemesis at the time.

Looking back, Duff joked that her publicist would probably cringe at the confession, but she feels it is ancient history now and no longer a big deal. In fact, she shared that years later, Lohan approached her at a club to clear the air. The two agreed they were good and even took a shot together, officially putting the drama behind them.

Duff also revealed she was not exactly a gatecrasher. She had been invited by Chad Michael Murray, who starred in 'Freaky Friday' alongside Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. He suggested she come with him, and as a young teen, she figured, why not?

The conversation later turned to a more recent headline involving fellow Disney alum Ashley Tisdale. After Tisdale wrote a personal essay about stepping away from an unhealthy mom friend group, online speculation pointed toward Hilary Duff and others. Duff said reading the piece made her genuinely sad and caught her off guard, especially because she felt parts of the narrative were not accurate.

She explained that motherhood naturally brings different friend groups over time and felt it was unfortunate that assumptions were made about several women's lives.

Duff's husband, musician Matthew Koma, publicly defended her with a sarcastic social media post poking fun at the situation. Duff said she did not know he planned to share it but found it funny. She added that she does not censor him and appreciates how fiercely supportive he is of her.

From teenage premiere antics to grown-up mom drama, Hilary Duff is clearly comfortable owning her past—and laughing about it.
