As part of its 10th anniversary celebration, Apple Music has officially named Ed Sheeran’s 2017 hit 'Shape of You' as the most-streamed song in the platform’s history. This announcement came as the streaming service unveiled its Top 500 Most-Streamed Songs list, with the final rankings released recently.
'Shape of You' not only topped Apple Music’s Top Pop Songs chart in at least one country for over 1,800 days across the past decade, but it also led the platform’s global all-genre chart for more than 1,000 days. When the song first launched in 2017, it shattered records for the biggest first-day pop debut by global streams on Apple Music. With 11 tracks in the top 500, Ed Sheeran proved he's not just a hitmaker — he's a global pop powerhouse.

In second place was The Weeknd’s 'Blinding Lights,' a track that held a position in the top 10 of Apple Music’s Global Daily Top 100 chart for over 180 days. The Weeknd appeared nine times in the top 500, further cementing his role as a streaming powerhouse.
Drake’s 'God’s Plan' landed at No. 3 and was one of 27 tracks by the Canadian artist in the top 500—more than any other artist. Drake also had the most entries in the top 100, with nine songs included. Just like 'Shape of You' rocked the charts, 'God’s Plan' stormed Apple Music, setting a new record for first-day streams.
Post Malone took both the fourth and fifth spots with the tracks 'Sunflower,' his 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' collaboration with Swae Lee, and 'Rockstar,' featuring 21 Savage. His continued presence in the upper rankings reflects his wide-reaching appeal and consistent chart dominance.

Top Female Artists Songs
Among female artists, Taylor Swift emerged as the top performer, with 14 songs making the top 500, second only to Drake overall. Her highest-charting track was 'Cruel Summer,' which landed at No. 57. Swift’s '1989' album proved especially popular, with songs like 'Wildest Dreams,' 'Shake It Off,' 'Style' and 'Blank Space,' all securing spots in the top 500.
BTS led the K-pop category with multiple high-ranking entries. It's 2020 English single 'Dynamite' placed at No. 34, while 'Butter' followed at No. 252. The latest K-pop song to make the list was 'APT,' a collaboration between BLACKPINK’s Rosé and Bruno Mars, which came in at No. 459. This track, the most recent addition to the list, has spent over 60 days at No. 1 on Apple Music’s Global Daily Top 100 chart.

Representing J-pop, Japanese duo Yoasobi had the most entries, with three tracks in the top 500, including their breakout single 'Racing into the Night (夜に駆ける).'
The oldest track to make the list was Queen’s timeless anthem 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' ranking at No. 156 and showcasing the enduring appeal of classic rock even in the streaming age.
