Elizabeth Olsen isn't ready to close the chapter on her time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
During a candid conversation at the 2025 Hamptons International Film Festival on 4th October, the 36-year-old actress looked back on her career and shared that she's still open to stepping back into the superhero world. Speaking at Sag Harbour Cinema, Olsen explained that her experience as Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch, has been one of the most rewarding parts of her journey—and there are still stories she'd love to explore from the comics.
Elizabeth Olsen and Her Marvel Experience
Elizabeth Olsen noted that her Marvel experience has been deeply meaningful, saying she's been able to grow alongside the character in ways she never expected. She expressed appreciation for the opportunity to bring Wanda's complex arc to life and hinted that there are more comic storylines she'd like to see on screen. For her, the franchise has always been about connecting with fans, not critics, and she believes that is what makes it special.

Reflecting on her early days in the MCU, Olsen admitted she felt both fortunate and nervous when she first joined the Marvel family over a decade ago. The decision ultimately paid off—her performance in 'WandaVision' earned her an Emmy nomination, solidifying her place as one of the standout stars of the superhero universe.
Elizabeth Olsen Addresses Superhero Fatigue Question
Addressing the ongoing discussion about superhero fatigue, Elizabeth Olsen acknowledged that audiences and even actors can feel a sense of exhaustion with large-scale franchises. However, she emphasised that being part of a long-running series creates a unique sense of community and familiarity. For her, the consistency of returning to a character and story over time feels fulfilling — and, as she joked, job security is something everyone can appreciate.
Outside of the MCU, Elizabeth Olsen has continued to evolve as both an actor and producer. She said she aims to create positive, respectful work environments on set where collaboration thrives. For Olsen, healthy creative debates are part of the process, but mutual respect is always the foundation.

Elizabeth Olsen and Her New Project
The actress also discussed her newest project, the A24 romantic dramedy 'Eternity,' which opened the Hamptons International Film Festival recently. The film stars Olsen alongside Miles Teller and Callum Turner, and follows a woman navigating an afterlife where souls have one week to decide where they'll spend eternity. Her character, Joan, faces a heart-wrenching choice between her lifelong partner and her first love, who died young but has been waiting for her ever since.
Directed by David Freyne, 'Eternity' also features John Early, Olga Merediz, and Da'Vine Joy Randolph. The film will be released in theatres on 26th November, 2025.
As Elizabeth Olsen continues to balance critically acclaimed indie films with her blockbuster past, fans remain hopeful that the Scarlet Witch's story isn't over—and by the sound of it, neither does she.
