George Clooney is looking back on a career moment that almost changed everything. The 64-year-old star recently reflected on the early days of his journey, sharing that he once believed the role of J.D. in 'Thelma & Louise' would be his leap from television into major film stardom. However, that opportunity ultimately went to Brad Pitt—a twist that Clooney admitted frustrated him for years.
Clooney revealed that he reached the final round of auditions for Ridley Scott's 1991 film and fully expected to land the part. He said he avoided watching the movie for a long time because he felt irritated, believing the role could have been his breakthrough. He noted that Pitt, who was also working in TV at the time, ended up launching his film career with the part George Clooney had wanted.

George Clooney eventually watched 'Thelma & Louise' and acknowledged that Pitt truly was the perfect choice for the character, joking that Pitt still teases him about it.
Brad Pitt has also spoken about the casting process, explaining that the role circled back to him multiple times before he was finally selected.
