Samara Weaving is gearing up for another blood-soaked battle as 'Ready or Not 2: Here I Come' reveals its first exclusive images. The sequel to the 2019 breakout horror hit once again follows Grace, whose deadly wedding night left fans wanting more.

Directed once again by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin—the 'Radio Silence' duo behind the recent 'Scream' films—the new chapter picks up with Grace after the explosive events of the first movie.

The filmmakers explain that they never expected the original to resonate so widely and feel deeply honoured to return to Grace's chaotic world. They describe coming back to the franchise with Samara Weaving as unexpectedly emotional, noting that seeing her slip back into the iconic wedding dress felt especially meaningful because the first film transformed their careers.

Samara Weaving on Coming Back to 'Ready or Not 2: Here I Come'

Weaving, now 33, admits she felt nervous at first about revisiting the character. She says slipping back into Grace's dress instantly reignited her excitement and made the character feel familiar again. The initial fitting brought back a wave of emotions, not only because of Grace but because she was reunited with the same crew she loved working with on the first film.

The sequel introduces a stacked ensemble, including Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood, Sean Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng and David Cronenberg. Gillett and Bettinelli-Olpin explain that the cast exceeded their expectations, bringing a mix of humour, horror and wonderfully strange energy to the film's new wave of characters.

On set, Samara Weaving says the cast bonded quickly—especially during the film's bloodier sequences—and she shares that she'd spend time with her co-stars every day if she could because she adores them.

Kathryn Newton's Feelings Working on 'Ready or Not 2: Here I Come'

Kathryn Newton, who previously collaborated with the directors on the 2024 vampire thriller 'Abigail,' reveals that her role in 'Ready or Not 2' was written specifically for her. She says the character shares some of her own quirks and playfully hints that she stirs up trouble, though only the fun kind.

Newton adds that Weaving welcomed her into the franchise with enthusiasm, and she hopes to work with both Weaving and Gellar repeatedly, calling them a dream team of scream-queen talent.

What to Expect From 'Ready or Not 2: Here I Come'?

The directors tease that the sequel aligns closely with the original film in a way that feels fresh but still connected. They share that Grace faces an even more unhinged situation that pushes her story further, emphasising that they worked hard to avoid repeating the same beats from the first movie. Their goal, they say, was to craft a sequel that longtime fans—and newcomers meeting Grace for the first time—could equally enjoy.

Weaving describes the follow-up as delightfully unhinged and completely wild, calling the story both a natural continuation and an unexpected twist. According to her, the writers found a brilliantly chaotic way back into Grace's world that fans won't see coming.

'Ready or Not 2: Here I Come' hits theatres in spring 2026.
