Karl Urban Returns in Prime Video Pirate Thriller 'The Bluff' Sneak Peek

Filmmaking brothers Joe Russo and Anthony Russo became household names thanks to their work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but in recent years, they have shifted their focus toward original action projects. Through their production company AGBO, they have backed films and series like 'The Electric State,' 'The Grey Man' and the 'Citadel' franchise on Prime Video.

Their latest venture is 'The Bluff,' a high-seas action thriller directed by Frank E. Flowers.

What is 'The Bluff' About?

The film 'The Bluff' stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Ercell "Bloody Mary" Bodden, a former pirate who has left her violent life behind. She has built a peaceful existence in the Cayman Islands with her husband, T.H., played by Ismael Cruz Cordova, their young son Isaac, portrayed by Vedanten Naidoo, and her sister-in-law Elizabeth, played by Safia Oakley-Green.

That peace is shattered when her former captain, Connor, played by Karl Urban, re-enters her life seeking revenge. His return forces Ercell to confront the past she tried so hard to escape. Pulled back into a dangerous world of secrets and survival, she relies on her deadly sword skills, clever traps and fierce determination to protect her family.

What follows is a brutal clash with Connor and his ruthless crew, as Ercell fights not only for her loved ones but also for her own redemption, rediscovering the warrior she once was.

Karl Urban is no stranger to action-packed roles. Many fans remember him from across major franchises, including the MCU, but he rose to global fame as Leonard "Bones" McCoy in 'Star Trek,' directed by J. J. Abrams. His performance honoured the original portrayal by DeForest Kelley while bringing a fresh energy to the rebooted series. That balance of intensity and charisma has defined much of his career and makes his face-off with Priyanka Chopra Jonas in 'The Bluff' especially exciting.

'The Bluff' premieres on Prime Video on 25th February, promising swashbuckling action and a fierce showdown between two former allies turned enemies.
