When the studio formally revealed that Ice Age 6 will be called 'Ice Age: Boiling Point' and will be released in theaters on 5th February, 2027, Disney fans were treated to frosty excitement during the Destination D23 event in Orlando, Florida on 30th August. After an almost ten-year break since 'Collision Course' (2016), this represents the next chapter in the cartoon series and promises viewers a brand-new, crazy journey full of lava, dinosaurs, and the reappearance of well-known characters.

The Herd Reunites Under New Direction
The official logline, which was unveiled at D23, states that 'Ice Age: Boiling Point' will take the cherished herd, which includes Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, and Scrat, into previously unexplored parts of the perilous Lost World. As the crew traverses a region full of molten danger and prehistoric surprises, expect volcanic eruptions, dinosaur encounters, and humorous chaos.
The return of the original voice cast for this film revival of the series will be welcomed by fans.

The recognizable, eccentric group is reunited with Ray Romano (Manny), John Leguizamo (Sid), Queen Latifah (Ellie), Denis Leary (Diego), and Simon Pegg (Buck). Notably, after Blue Sky Studios closed, Boiling Point is the first Ice Age movie to be released in theaters under Disney's 20th Century Animation brand. This also marks a dramatic change in production leadership.

With nearly $3.2 billion made from its first five features, the Ice Age franchise has grown to become one of the most successful animation series since its 2002 launch. Disney is now counting on a furious comeback with Boiling Point. The release, which was originally scheduled for December 2026, is now rescheduled to avoid conflicting with other important titles. It now takes place in early 2027, which is a calculated move to draw interest from viewers.
