Jennifer Lawrence says her role in 'Red Sparrow' was the most challenging part she's ever prepared for.
During a recent Q&A at the 92NY Kaufmann Concert Hall in New York City, Jennifer Lawrence, 35, shared that the 2018 spy thriller challenged her more than any other movie she has worked on in her career. She explained that the role required her to master a Russian accent and physically transform into a former ballerina turned lethal spy.

Jennifer Lawrence's Intense Training
In preparation for the part, Jennifer Lawrence spent months training her body for the ballet sequences. She worked closely with associate choreographer Kurt Froman, who trained her six days a week for three hours a day. On top of the physical demands, she also followed a strict diet to fully embody Dominika, a ballerina forced into a government program that turns her into a deadly agent.

Lawrence said that playing Dominika required discipline and hunger, both literally and figuratively, to feel authentic in her character. To balance energy levels during filming, she shot all the dance scenes first so she could eat normally for the remainder of the shoot.
This intense preparation made 'Red Sparrow' stand out in Jennifer Lawrence's diverse filmography, showing the lengths she goes to for fully committing to a role.
