Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson both say they would love to finally appear in a movie together.
The mother and daughter, who have never shared the screen, spoke about their wish to collaborate during an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE ahead of a Q&A event for Kate's latest film, 'Song Sung Blue,' held in Los Angeles on 13th January.
Goldie shared that she is completely open to the idea, even though there is no specific project in mind yet. Kate Hudson echoed her enthusiasm and said she truly hopes it happens one day. She joked that if the right opportunity does not come along, she may have to step away, get inspired, and write a script herself to make it happen.

Goldie Hawn praised Kate Hudson's 'Song Sung Blue' Performance
Before the Q&A at AMC The Grove 15, Goldie Hawn also praised Kate's performance in 'Song Sung Blue,' where Kate stars alongside Hugh Jackman as members of a Neil Diamond tribute band. She spoke warmly about her daughter's career, saying she feels incredibly proud and continues to be amazed by Kate's talent and growth as an actress. Goldie added that Kate has always been her own person and never stops surprising the family with her abilities.
Goldie went on to explain that Kate Hudson's acting comes naturally to her. She believes it is instinctive rather than something learned through formal teaching, shaped by growing up in a family deeply involved in filmmaking. According to Goldie, their family learns by watching and living together rather than through lectures or advice.

Kate Hudson was born in 1979 to Goldie Hawn and her then-husband Bill Hudson. After their divorce in 1982, Goldie began a relationship with Kurt Russell in 1983. Kate has long considered Russell her stepfather, a role he has held in her life for more than 40 years.
Goldie also shared that their family makes a conscious effort to balance work with everyday life. She said they value family time, personal interests, and shared experiences outside of acting, such as reading and spending time together.
She concluded by saying that while acting is an important part of their lives, it does not define who they are. For their family, work is simply something they do, not their entire identity.
