Kim Kardashian Files New Trademarks Suggesting North West Is Launching a Fashion Brand

It seems like North West is ready to grab the spotlight again—but this time in a completely different way.

The 12-year-old is no stranger to attention, whether it's through music, fashion or bold style moments. Now, all signs point to her carving out her own lane and possibly building something big for herself.

Is North West Launching a Brand?

According to trademark filings dated 14th January and obtained by PEOPLE, her mother, Kim Kardashian, has applied to register the name NOR11. The move strongly suggests the 12-year-old could be preparing to launch her own brand.

The trademark applications cover a wide range of fashion and lifestyle products, including dresses, shoes, loungewear, hats, watches, jewellery, handbags and cosmetic cases. If approved, the filings could mark the beginning of a fashion venture for North, following in her famous family's entrepreneurial footsteps.

 North West in The Creative Field

North has already shown interest in the creative world, much like her father, Kanye West. In January, she shared a preview of a song on Instagram that she collaborated on with him. The track, titled 'Piercing on My Hand' (Ye Version), appeared to address the backlash she faced over her dermal piercings.

In the song, North West raps about having a piercing on her hand while holding money, feeling misunderstood, skipping school and embracing her bold style choices. She also references wanting more piercings and tattoos, loving blue hair styled in plaits and turning the music up loud. The lyrics reflect her confidence and her awareness of the attention and criticism she receives.

North West's Daring Choices

North West first sparked debate in September when she was seen with a dermal piercing while out in Rome. Some critics argued she was too young for that type of piercing, raising concerns about pain and possible infection. Since then, she has continued experimenting with different piercings and edgy looks, though some of the modifications have reportedly been temporary or fake.

Despite the criticism, North has remained unapologetic about her style. In a conversation with her mom for Interview Magazine, she shared that her biggest fashion inspirations include streetwear, 1990s trends, Tyler, the Creator, her dad and herself.

With trademark filings now in motion and a strong sense of personal style already established,  North West may be well on her way to building a fashion empire of her own.
