Margot Robbie is sharing how stepping onto the set of 'Wuthering Heights' shortly after becoming a mother brought an entirely new perspective to her work.

In a newly published interview with British Vogue, the 35-year-old actress spoke about returning to filming just three months after welcoming her first child with husband Tom Ackerley in October 2024. Robbie said she was still in the early stages of postpartum life when production began, and that the shift in her routine left her feeling unlike her usual self. Instead of following the structured preparation she typically relies on, she described her approach as far more improvised and instinctive.

Robbie recalled expressing concern to writer-director Emerald Fennell about whether she was adequately prepared for the role. Fennell reassured her by encouraging her not to overprepare and instead focus on responding authentically in the moment. Margot Robbie explained that this direction eased much of her anxiety, helping her inhabit the character physically rather than mentally overthinking each scene.

Robbie and Ackerley welcomed their son—whose name they have not publicly shared—on 17th October, 2024. A source told PEOPLE in November that the couple were enjoying life as first-time parents and spending most of their time at home with their baby boy. The insider described them as naturally home-oriented and said the quiet family time had made them very happy.

Although Robbie typically keeps her family life private, she did share in an August 2025 interview with Entertainment Tonight that becoming a mother has been a deeply fulfilling experience and something that other parents instantly understand without explanation.

In her conversation with Vogue, Margot Robbie also discussed how she, Fennell, and Elordi shaped the chemistry at the heart of the story. She said she and Fennell frequently talked about the kinds of moments that felt genuinely romantic or exciting to them—details that went beyond traditional cinematic gestures. Robbie pointed to one scene in particular where Elordi's Heathcliff lifts Catherine with one arm while using the other to shield her from the rain, a moment she said felt unexpectedly powerful and swoon-worthy.
