While there is a lot of buzz surrounding the romantic and intense moments in Margot Robbie's new take on 'Wuthering Heights,' the actress insists that her preparation was business as usual.

At the film's Los Angeles premiere on 28th January, the 35-year-old star explained that she approached the intimate scenes exactly like any other part of the movie. She noted that the project was demanding for the entire cast, and while her character seems to be crying in nearly every scene, she found the experience joyful. She specifically loved portraying someone who could flip between extreme emotions in a heartbeat.

Margot Robbie in 'Wuthering Heights'

In this adaptation directed by Emerald Fennell, Margot plays Catherine Earnshaw alongside Jacob Elordi's Heathcliff. Margot has previously teased that this version is even more wild and "bananas" than Fennell’s previous provocative hit, 'Saltburn.'

Director Emerald Fennell also shared her perspective on filming those talked-about moments. She emphasised that her priority is always creating an environment of safety, trust, and love for her actors. Fennell explained that she focuses on making sure everyone feels completely comfortable, often using humour and laughter to keep the mood light. From her point of view, love scenes are just another emotional beat in the story and should be treated with the same professional focus as any other sequence.

'Wuthering Heights': A Milestone Movie

This film marks a significant milestone for the duo. While it is the first time Fennell has directed Margot Robbie as an actress, it is their third time working together overall. Margot and her husband, Tom Ackerley, produced Fennell's earlier films, 'Promising Young Woman' and 'Saltburn,' through their company, LuckyChap Entertainment.

Fennell had nothing but praise for her leading lady, calling Margot Robbie an inspiration and an extraordinary woman. She highlighted how impressed she is by Margot's ability to balance being a mother and a high-level producer while remaining a brilliant actress who is always generous to those around her.
