Georgia Sees 50% Drop in Film Spending, Jobs Impacted as States Compete
The consequence of the ruling is already apparent. Industry insiders report that Georgia's film production expenditures have plummeted by almost half this year. Local economies have been severely impacted by the abrupt drop, especially in places where Marvel used to frequently film scenes for movies like Black Panther and Avengers: Endgame. Other nations and states are stepping up their incentive schemes in the meantime; the UK is providing cutting-edge studios and attractive tax advantages. Because of this, large studios looking to minimize expenses while preserving high production value are finding overseas production to be more and more alluring.
