For Sophie Turner, acting alongside Kit Harington once again came with an unexpected challenge — this time in a romance-heavy horror film.

Sophie Turner recently went on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' to talk about her new gothic horror film 'The Dreadful', which she is producing and acting in. The movie also features one of her fellow 'Game of Thrones' cast members. While she was excited to recruit Harington — whom fans know as Jon Snow — she didn’t initially realise their roles involved several romantic scenes.

Sophie Turner's Thoughts on Kissing Scenes

As Sophie Turner reviewed the script, she noticed an overwhelming number of intimate moments between the lead characters. Even though the material was compelling, she and Harington — who played on-screen siblings Sansa Stark and Jon Snow for years — dreaded the thought of performing romantic scenes together. Despite the awkwardness, they agreed the project was too good to pass up.

The pair jumped into production — and their very first scene involved a kiss. According to Sophie Turner, both were visibly uncomfortable and struggled through the take, describing the moment as borderline nauseating. It felt worse than anything she had recently filmed — including a scene from her thriller 'Trust', where live cockroaches and rats crawled over her.

Turner and Harington spent eight seasons together in 'Game of Thrones', where their sibling dynamic became deeply embedded in how they saw each other professionally. Though their characters rarely interacted early on, later seasons brought them closer, which added to the bizarre tension on set for their new project.

'The Dreadful' currently has no official release date, but it’s already generating buzz thanks to its off-screen reunion of beloved 'Game of Thrones' actors.
