Michael B. Jordan's Favourite Vampire

During an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE at the Gotham Awards in New York City, the 'Sinners' star shared that his favourite on-screen vampire is Eddie Murphy's character from the 1995 film 'Vampire in Brooklyn.' Jordan, 38, referenced Murphy's performance as the undead Maximillian, a suave and menacing vampire navigating the chaos of Brooklyn while pursuing Angela Bassett's character, Detective Rita Veder, whom he hopes to turn into his eternal partner.

The film's original marketing famously highlighted the humour and danger of Murphy's role, describing Maximillian as the last vampire in existence who finds Brooklyn more terrifying than any supernatural threat.

Michael B. Jordan's Performance in 'Sinners'

Now, three decades after Murphy's take on the genre, Michael B. Jordan has stepped into the world of cinematic vampires himself with his critically acclaimed film 'Sinners.' His performance has already sparked awards buzz as he portrays twins Elijah "Smoke" Moore and Elias "Stack" Moore, who must confront a growing vampire threat in their 1930s hometown. Over the course of the story, one twin ultimately falls victim to a vampire bite and transforms into one of the very creatures they are fighting.

'Sinners' is currently streaming on Max and is also available for purchase on Prime Video, Fandango at Home and Apple TV.
