A massive and vengeful force is preparing to shake Netflix this December as 'Troll 2' storms onto the platform. Director Roar Uthaug, known for 'Tomb Raider' (2018), returns with the long-awaited sequel to his hit Norwegian fantasy monster film.
The new chapter introduces an even more dangerous threat awakening deep within the mountains, pulling Nora (Ina Marie Wilmann), Andreas (Kim Falck), and Captain Kris (Mads Sjøgård Pettersen) back into the fight as Norway faces yet another looming catastrophe. Ahead of the film's debut, Collider's Exclusive Preview series unveiled a dramatic first look at the sequel, giving viewers a glimpse of the trolls' unstoppable power.
What is 'Troll 2' New Clip About?
The newly released clip launches into high-intensity action as Nora and Andreas sprint through a mountainside research facility while a colossal troll bursts out of containment. Earlier footage confirmed this creature as the so-called "Megatroll," a giant that had been captured for scientific study in hopes of understanding the ancient beings.

The sneak peek makes it clear that these mythological creatures are far too powerful to restrain. Metal structures collapse like paper, alarms blare, and chaos erupts as the enormous troll tears through the facility. Nora, Andreas, and a handful of survivors manage to flee and emerge into the snow just as the giant creature smashes through the wall and disappears into the wilderness once again putting the people of Norway at risk.
'Troll' Became a Global Hit
The preview also reinforces why the original 'Troll' became a global hit. The film earned strong critical acclaim, with reviewers praising its impressive visual effects and its return to classic monster-movie storytelling rooted in Norse mythology.
The sequel aims to raise the stakes even further—not only through the introduction of the Megatroll but also through the appearance of another troll who may not be hostile toward humans. As destruction spreads, the characters must rely on ancient folklore and this unexpected ally to understand the escalating threat. Everything appears to be building toward a massive kaiju-style showdown, blending Nordic legend with the explosive scale of franchises like 'Godzilla' and the 'Monsterverse.'

Expectations for 'Troll 2' are high, especially after the first film became Netflix's most successful non-English-language movie, reaching 103 million views and narrowly surpassing 'Under Paris' and 'Society of the Snow.'
Director Roar Uthaug has reunited with screenwriter Espen Auken and the production company Motion Blur, delivering what is reportedly the largest film production ever undertaken in the Nordic region. Producers Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud have also returned, and the cast features the returning trio of Wilmann, Falck, and Pettersen, with Sara Khorami joining the lineup.
'Troll 2' premieres on Netflix on 1st December.
