Pixar has officially introduced its next big-screen adventure. Recently, the beloved animation studio dropped the first trailer for 'Hoppers', a heartwarming and imaginative new film that explores what happens when humans step into the minds of animals.
The story centres on Mabel, a curious and determined young woman voiced by Piper Curda ('May December', 'Matlock'). Mabel gains access to groundbreaking technology developed at the fictional Beaverton University, where scientists have figured out how to transfer human consciousness into robotic animals. This allows people to experience the world from an animal’s point of view—literally.
Using the tech, Mabel inhabits the mind of a robotic beaver and heads into the wilderness for the first time. Her journey takes an unexpected turn when she encounters a real beaver and a bear with a menacing appetite. That moment marks a pivotal realisation—Mabel’s actions may have disrupted the delicate balance of the natural world.
Idea Behind 'Hoppers'
According to director Daniel Chong, 'Hoppers' explores the central idea of what it would be like if humans could truly communicate with animals. He explained that Mabel’s journey as an undercover observer in the animal kingdom offers both comedy and chaos, with plenty of heartfelt moments. Chong emphasised that the film promises to be a thrilling ride full of surprises and emotional depth, delivering everything fans expect from a Pixar feature.

The official synopsis reveals that the film’s scientists have unlocked the ability to "hop" human minds into lifelike animal robots. This innovation allows people to interact with animals as if they were one of them. Through this experience, Mabel is pulled into an adventure that uncovers secrets of the animal world far beyond her imagination.
'Hoppers' also stars the voices of Bobby Moynihan and Jon Hamm, though their characters have not yet been revealed in the trailer.

The film hits theatres on 6th March, 2026, and is one of two major Pixar releases scheduled for next year, the other being the much-anticipated 'Toy Story 5', arriving 19th June, 2026.
For fans of Pixar’s signature blend of humour, heart, and imaginative storytelling, 'Hoppers' promises to deliver a fresh perspective—literally—from inside the animal world.
