A new posthumous album from DMX is in the works, with the first single—featuring Joyner Lucas—now available. The project, titled DMX Features, will consist of previously unreleased collaborations and is expected to drop later this summer, though further details remain under wraps.
The lead single from the upcoming album, titled ‘Bring Out the Worst’ and featuring Joyner Lucas, was released on May 30. The track marks the beginning of the rollout for the album, which follows four years after DMX’s passing in April 2021. His death, caused by a co*aine-induced heart attack, occurred at age 50.
The single was released just days after the 27th anniversary of DMX’s 1998 debut album, It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot. Distributed by DNA Music Group and Hitmaker Distro, the track reportedly uses a verse that was also heard on ‘Where My Dogs At’ from The Weigh-In mixtape, released in 2012.

While the full tracklist for DMX Features hasn’t been confirmed, Rolling Stone reported that it will include guest appearances from artists like Wiz Khalifa and Kevin Gates. More details are expected to be announced in the near future.
In other DMX-related news, 2023 saw Jermaine Dupri recall an incident in which DMX allegedly used his dogs to rob a journalist. Meanwhile, Melle Mel sparked discussion by suggesting that both DMX and 2Pac were more talented as actors than as rappers.
