'Reminders of Him' Trailer Debuts Bringing Colleen Hoover Book to the Big Screen

Colleen Hoover continues to bring her bestselling novels to life on the big screen with 'Reminders of Him.' The author not only wrote the screenplay but also co-wrote it for the romantic drama, which released its first trailer on 21st October.

'Reminders of Him' Storyline

The film stars Maika Monroe as Kenna, a woman whose life is turned upside down after a tragic accident claims the life of her boyfriend, Scotty, played by Rudy Pankow. Seven years later, Kenna is released from prison and returns to her Wyoming hometown, determined to reconnect with her young daughter, Diem, whom she has never met.

Reuniting with Diem proves challenging, as the child's custodial grandparents, portrayed by Lauren Graham and Bradley Whitford, are reluctant to allow contact. In her efforts to rebuild her life, Kenna forms a bond with Ledger, a local bar owner played by Tyriq Withers, sparking a romance that comes with its own risks and complications.

What Does 'Reminders of Him' Offer?

The movie explores themes of heartbreak, forgiveness, and the hope for second chances, highlighting the emotional journey of both Kenna and Ledger. Monroe described her co-star, Withers, as incredibly talented and a source of laughter and support during challenging days on set.

Withers noted that their on-screen chemistry was instant, forged during early rehearsals where the actors connected deeply over shared emotions, carrying that authenticity into each scene.

'Reminders of Him' follows the successful adaptation of Hoover's 'It Ends With Us,' starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, released in August 2024. Another Hoover adaptation, 'Regretting You', is set to premiere on 24th October. Hoover has emphasised that the film adaptation of 'Reminders of Him' stays true to the heart of the novel, capturing its pain, hope, and moments of forgiveness while bringing the story's emotional core to life on screen.
