The name "Rocki" was instantly associated by fans with her father's stage name, A$AP Rocky, highlighting a connection to him. Poetic nuance is added by the middle name "Irish," which some believe alludes to Rihanna's own mixed history, which includes Irish ancestry, even though the pair hasn't publicly disclosed its significance.

Rocki continues the family's long-standing "R" name tradition by joining her older brothers, RZA Athelston Mayers (born in 2022) and Riot Rose Mayers (born in 2023).
