After being loved and cherished after all these years, Rupert Grint has fully come to terms with the lasting impact of his role as Ron Weasley in the globally acclaimed 'Harry Potter' film series. Now 37, the British actor reflected on his journey during a recent BBC interview marking more than a decade since the final instalment of the franchise was released.

Rupert Grint's Emotions For Ron Weasley's Character 

Grint was cast as Ron Weasley at just 11 years old, starring alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson in what would become one of the most successful movie franchises of all time. Looking back, he shared that he holds no resentment over being forever linked to the character. Instead, he feels proud of the role, acknowledging how deeply it resonates with multiple generations of fans and how meaningful it has become in pop culture.

He also admitted that while he doesn't believe he will ever fully step away from Ron Weasley's shadow, he is completely at peace with that reality. Rupert Grint said he values the emotional connection fans have with the series, especially those who grew up with the films as part of their childhood.

Rupert Grint's Career

The actor starred in all eight ‘Harry Potter’ films from 2001's 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' to 2011's 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows–Part 2,' an experience he described as life-changing. Having been a fan of the books before joining the cast, he felt like he was stepping directly into a world he had only imagined.

Although he is currently focused on new projects, including 'Knock at the Cabin' and Apple TV+'s 'Servant,' Grint has not completely ruled out a return to the Wizarding World in the future. He also expressed curiosity about the upcoming 'Harry Potter' television series reboot, saying it felt strange yet exciting to see the story begin again with a new generation.

Rupert Grint revealed that he even reached out to the new actor cast as Ron Weasley, Alastair Stout, to offer encouragement and wish him well as he takes on the iconic role.
