Ryan Reynolds is returning to the big screen with Netflix's upcoming live-action adaptation of 'Eloise,' the beloved 1950s children's book series by Kay Thompson and illustrator Hilary Knight. The streaming giant confirmed that Reynolds, 49, will play an original villain in the new film, joining newcomer Mae Schenk, who takes on the iconic role of Eloise.
The project marks Reynolds' first movie appearance since 'Deadpool & Wolverine' in 2024. The film is described by Netflix as a fresh adventure inspired by Thompson's classic tales, which follow a spirited young girl living at New York City's Plaza Hotel with her nanny, pug Weenie, and turtle Skipperdee.

Netflix's Head of Feature Animation and Family Films, Hannah Minghella, noted that 'Eloise' has remained a beloved figure for generations and expressed excitement about reintroducing the character through a fun and heartfelt family story.
