Sophie Turner recently shared a heartfelt story about a lucky piece of jewellery she believes helped her land one of the biggest roles of her career.
During an appearance on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,' the 29-year-old actress revealed that she wore her late grandfather's wedding ring to her X-Men audition in 2016. She believes that a meaningful gesture played a part in her being cast as Jean Grey, a character she later portrayed in 'X-Men: Apocalypse' and 'Dark Phoenix.'
Sophie Turner Spoke About Her Grandfather
Turner spoke warmly about her grandfather, Robert Jesse Cotton, who worked as a supporting artist in several television shows before his passing. She explained that he had a profound influence on her life and acting journey. Just weeks before her screen test for X-Men, she inherited his wedding ring and decided to wear it to the audition. Soon after, she received the life-changing call that she had landed the role.

She credited her grandfather for watching over her and expressed her gratitude and love, with Fallon joining in the emotional moment and suggesting that he was still looking out for her from above.
Sophie Turner is Celebrating a Lot This Year
