In a recent interview promoting her new album, 'The Life of a Showgirl,' which got released this Friday, 3rd October, Taylor Swift made headlines with a humorous yet insightful comment regarding her marriage to NFL player Travis Kelce: "Oh, it would be hard to keep him from it." She was asked if her longtime friend Ed Sheeran would perform at the ceremony. Swifties seem to be excited and speculated about the comment because of Swift and Sheeran's strong creative relationship, musical chemistry, and history of unexpected performances together.
A Playful Hint—or Almost an Open Invitation
Taylor appeared on the U.K.'s Hits Radio Breakfast Show and was asked directly whether Ed Sheeran would sing at her wedding. "We spoke to Ed a few weeks back, and he told us he is constantly asked to perform at people's weddings. So is he singing at your wedding?" the host asked. Swift replied with a laugh, "Oh, it would be hard to keep him from it, I think!"

She further added that Sheeran seems to always be ready for the wedding performance: "He's like, 'I'm always being asked to sing at weddings.' It's like, 'Ed, if there is a stage, you know you'll be on it.' He knows what people want, and he likes to give people what they want."
Swift also acknowledged that she and Sheeran both enjoy impromptu performances. It's not difficult to get either of them to sing, she joked. The topic gained wider attention when she referenced attending Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s wedding, where both she and Sheeran gave speeches and reconnected.

Meanwhile, Travis Kelce has chimed in as well—on his podcast 'New Heights,' he hinted earlier that the couple are "live music sort of people," suggesting that musical performances may be central to their big day.
Friendship, Collaboration & What It Means for the Wedding
The relationship between Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift dates back more than ten years. They co-wrote songs like 'Everything Has Changed,' and began working together when Sheeran opened for Swift on her 2012 'Red Tour.' They have astonished fans with live duets on tour throughout the years, including medleys combining 'Everything Has Changed,' 'End Game,' and 'Thinking Out Loud' during her 'Eras Tour.'

They have a strong creative synergy because of their friendship. Working with Sheeran is sometimes a "mind melt" experience, according to Swift, when ideas flow naturally between the two. They still see each other "about four times a year," but when they do, their time together frequently devolves into lengthy conversations about music and catch-up.
As for whether it's a guarantee that Sheeran will perform at her wedding—Taylor stayed coy. However, when asked about specific plans or timings, she didn't confirm anything—just that the musical spirit between them makes it feel very likely.

While talk of her wedding and Ed Sheeran's potential performance has delighted fans, Taylor Swift also used the moment to spotlight her latest musical chapter—her new album, 'The Life of a Showgirl,' which is now streaming on all platforms.
