The Rolling Stones Reportedly Recording New Album with Tour Plans in Sight

The Rolling Stones are reportedly back in the studio, working on new material and potentially gearing up for another tour. The news follows the success of their 2023 album, ‘Hackney Diamonds’—their first studio release in 18 years—which featured the late Charlie Watts' final recordings and included contributions from artists like Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, and Elton John.

After completing a 20-date North American tour last year that reportedly brought in around $235 million, the band had been expected to tour the UK and Europe in 2024. However, reports suggest those plans were shelved due to scheduling issues. Instead, the legendary group—Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and drummer Steve Jordan—are said to have shifted their focus to recording a follow-up.

According to The Sun, the band have been working at Metropolis Studios in West London since April and have completed 13 new tracks. While the band have yet to confirm the project publicly, sources claim that talks are underway with their label regarding a release date. Longtime collaborator Andrew Watt—who co-wrote and produced several tracks on ‘Hackney Diamonds’—is reportedly involved in the new sessions as well.

Rolling Stones Hint at More New Music in the Works

Despite the lack of official announcements, the band members have hinted in various interviews that they’re not finished yet. Jagger had mentioned prior to the release of ‘Hackney Diamonds’ that they were already “three-quarters through the next one.” Richards echoed the sentiment, stating there’s always more music to come and that new material was already in the pipeline.

Ronnie Wood also previously revealed that the band recorded around 23 songs during the ‘Hackney Diamonds’ sessions, with only 12 making the final cut. He confirmed that fans wouldn’t have to wait nearly two decades for another album.

In related news, Wood is set to reunite with Rod Stewart for a special performance at Glastonbury 2025, where Stewart will take the Legends Slot. The reunion is expected to be part of a larger comeback for Faces, who have reportedly recorded 11 new tracks—potentially marking their first new album in over 50 years.
