Netflix has officially released the first trailer for 'The Twits,' a brand-new animated movie from Oscar-nominated filmmaker Phil Johnston. The movie, inspired by Roald Dahl's beloved children's book, is set to premiere globally on 17th October.

Directed and co-written by Johnston—best known for 'Ralph Breaks the Internet,' 'Zootopia,' and 'Wreck-It Ralph'—the film brings Dahl's iconic characters Mr and Mrs Twit to the big screen for the first time. The two are known as the most repulsive, mean-spirited, and downright disgusting couple in the world, and Johnston's version reimagines their chaotic antics for a new generation.

In this adaptation, the Twits run Twitlandia, a bizarre and dangerous amusement park that mirrors their twisted personalities. When the despicable duo rises to power in their town, two courageous children—Beesha and Bubsy—team up with a family of magical creatures called the Muggle-Wumps to outsmart them and restore order.

Adding to the excitement, 'The Twits' features original music from David Byrne, frontman of Talking Heads, and Hayley Williams of Paramore, both of whom contributed three exclusive songs to the film’s soundtrack.

Phil Johnston developed 'The Twits' alongside co-directors Katie Shanahan and Todd Demong, with Meg Favreau serving as co-writer. The film's vibrant animation was created by Jellyfish Pictures, the studio behind hits like 'The Boss Baby' and 'The Bad Guys'. Producers include Johnston, Maggie Malone, and Daisy May West.
