Timothee Chalamet is known for fully committing to his roles, and that dedication does not stop once the cameras stop rolling.
The 'Marty Supreme' actor recently spoke about his bold public appearances, which often reflect the projects he is working on, during a Q&A at London's Prince Charles Cinema. While some see these moments as creative marketing, Chalamet views them as an extension of his artistry.
He explained that he does not think of these appearances as promotion. Instead, he sees himself as an artist pushing his creative boundaries and expressing himself freely, saying he feels confident, energised, and fully in the right mindset.

That philosophy was on full display when Timothee Chalamet pulled double duty as host and musical guest on 'Saturday Night Live' in January 2025. For the music portion of the show, he stepped into the world of Bob Dylan, performing several songs by the legendary musician he portrayed in 'A Complete Unknown,' including 'Outlaw Blues,' 'Three Angels' and 'Tomorrow Is a Long Time.'
The performance almost never happened. Timothee Chalamet revealed that he had to strongly advocate for himself to be allowed to perform as the musical guest. In the end, he personally covered the costs, spending well into the six-figure range to make the performance a reality after refusing to take no for an answer.

His portrayal of Dylan in 'A Complete Unknown' has already earned him his first Grammy nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. The film, released in December 2024, follows the early years of Dylan’s career as he finds his footing in New York City during the early 1960s.
Timothee Chalamet described his approach to acting as leaning into the overall tone and energy of a film rather than strict method acting. For him, it is about fully living in the world of the story and carrying that spirit wherever he goes.
