'Wicked: For Good' Soundtrack Gets Release Date & Tracklist—Two New Original Songs Included

Big news for Wicked fans: the 'Wicked: For Good' soundtrack is officially set to drop on 21st November, the same day the film hits theaters. Songs from Act 2 of the stage musical will be included on the CD, along with some brand-new songs created especially for the film. A previously unpublished piece from the Broadway production will be included, along with two brand-new songs by composer Stephen Schwartz.

New Songs for Elphaba & Glinda

In order to enhance the plot of the sequel, composer Stephen Schwartz, who is making a comeback, has added two completely new pieces. 'No Place Like Home,' starring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, examines the sentimental attachments and desires associated with the concept of "home." Fans were informed that Erivo co-wrote the song and that everyone on set cried while they recorded it.

In the meantime, Glinda actress Ariana Grande delivers a new song called 'The Girl in the Bubble.' This crucial point in her character's development illuminates her inner world in a manner that the stage adaptation did not.

Classic & Rediscovered Tracks

Alongside the brand‑new songs, the soundtrack reprises fan favourites from the original musical's second act. Songs like 'Thank Goodness / I Couldn't Be Happier,' 'As Long as You're Mine,' 'No Good Deed,' 'For Good,' and 'March of the Witch Hunters' are included. The 'Wicked Witch of the East,' a song from the Broadway production that was omitted from previous cast recordings, is also making its soundtrack debut.

Marissa Bode, Cynthia Erivo, and Ethan Slater are performing the restoration of 'Wicked: For Good.'

Album Details & Formats

Republic Records and Verve Records will jointly release the album on 21st November, which coincides with the movie's theatrical debut. Digital, CD, vinyl, and unique picture disc LPs with retailer-only packaging are among the formats in which the soundtrack will be available, and pre-orders are already being accepted.

According to director Jon M. Chu, a number of the soundtrack's songs are particularly potent, citing 'No Good Deed,' and 'As Long as You're Mine' as two examples of songs that add nuance to the emotional experience.
